Complete the Survey

Have you said Yes to believe it was Yes

Taken life to make it more than you purposed for

Has your Yes been intentionally weak making you feel incomplete

When you say Yes do you mean what you say

Or do you just respond that way

Is your Yes pure or just sublime

Is it just what you desire time after time

My heart spoke Yes to a God bigger than me

I said Yes to a new possibility to believe

My Yes changed my life

Made me feel like I could multiply

It’s Yes that forces change

But, until you say YES you’ll forever remain the same

How many of us have filled out a survey verbally or non verbally? At least one time in our life we have. Even now on our receipts from several different establishments we will see a survey on the bottom that offers us free food, a chance to win money or certain % off of our next purchase. It’s an obvious win win. It just asks

for a little of our time to answer Yes or No, disagree or agree, or rate 1 to 10. It’s actually pretty effortless and simple to do this. Now, let me ask you a question. When was the last time you completed the survey and answered YES to God?

Saying Yes to God cost something. It’s expensive. It’s uncomfortable. You may have to lose things or even people. Walk away from what you thought was destiny or start a new thing that you are not familiar in doing.

I want to introduce you to a woman name Rahab who has a colorful past. Reminds me of myself because my past isn‘t all black or white. We may have different stories but it’s a story nonetheless.

First I want to give you a back story of the word. Joshua Chapter 1 starts with Joshua who is now leading the Israelites since Moses is dead. In this chapter, the Lord tells Joshua it’s your turn to lead the people to the place I promised them. Be strong and courageous (verse 6). Above all be strong and courageous (verse 7). The Lord continues to tell Joshua, haven’t I commanded you to be strong and courageous (Verse 9). Above all be strong and courageous (verse 18).

YES WILL TAKE STRENGTH AND COURAGE....

Moving to Chapter 2, Joshua instructed two spies to go into Jericho. So they left, and they came to the house of the prostitute named Rahab, and stayed there. This is where the purpose of a woman’s YES changed her destiny.

The King of Jericho heard that spies were at Rahab house. The King sent word to Rahab. Bring out the men who came to you and entered your house. Rahab hid the men. When she had to answer the King she said YES, the men did come to me, but I didn’t know where they were from (verse 4). She then gave the Kings men directions to chase an area she knew they were not.

Rahab, being bold and courageous said to the two spies, we have heard what your God does for you. I have helped you, I’m asking you to save me and everyone of my family members. The men answered that they would, but she must tie a scarlet cord to the window, and make sure all of her family is with her, and they will be saved (verse 10-20).

Rahab YES was obedience. Your YES will be your obedience. My YES was my obedience. I will tell you my YES bought tears, revealed a ton of brokenness, hurt, loss, rejection, and anger. BUT GOD! I’m going to tell you that YES may not be all rainbows and sprinkles, but what it will build inside of you will change your life for the better and also the life of your family (generations). Say YES, tell the truth no matter what may happen. Choose obedience. BE BOLD & COURAGEOUS! Encourage yourself and others to complete the survey.
